On January 2, 2013, through a process known as “sequestration,” cuts of 8.4% are scheduled to wipe millions from research funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), services funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA), housing funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and education for youth with disabilities funded by the U.S. Department of Education
Congress has the authority to act before January 2nd to prevent these draconian cuts. Your voices and letters are urgently needed to convince U.S. Senators and Representatives that cuts of this magnitude would harm children and adults living with mental illness.
