HHSC is seeking members for the Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee created by Senate Bill 58. The committee will address planning and development needs to integrate Medicaid behavioral health services, including targeted case management, mental health rehabilitative services and physical health services. Applications to serve on the committee are due Aug. 14.
The committee must seek input from the behavioral health community on these issues and produce formal recommendations to HHSC on how to accomplish integrating behavioral and physical health within Medicaid managed care.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is accepting applications for membership on the Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee. The committee will include key stakeholders. Required members will include: individuals with behavioral health conditions who are current or former Medicaid recipients of publicly funded behavioral health services, representatives of managed care organizations that have expertise in offering behavioral health services, public and private providers of behavioral health services, and providers of behavioral health services who are also primary care providers for individuals who are dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare.
The Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee is time limited, and its work will end September 1, 2017.
Membership on the Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee requires regular participation in committee meetings and may entail participation in subcommittee meetings, projects and presentations. Meetings will be will take at least quarterly in Austin at the call of the presiding officer. Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee members will not receive compensation for participation on the committee.
